Distributed State Estimation for Multi-Feeder Distribution Grids

The real-time monitoring of electric distribution grids via state estimation is a fundamental requirement to deploy smart automation and control in the system. Due large size networks poor coverage measurement instrumentation on field, designing fast algorithms achieving accurate results are two major challenges associated system estimation. In this paper, an efficient solution for performing multi-feeder radial presented. proposed algorithm based two-step approach. first step, performed parallel different feeders suitably processing available measurements pseudo-measurements taking into account their uncertainty characteristics. second each feeder post-processed refine estimations improve accuracy performance. To purpose, step considers how uncertainties propagate towards final estimates shared among could adversely affect Performed tests show that conceived design leads performance very close those achievable by running full grid. At same time, parallelization process allows decentralizing problem, with benefits terms computation time communication storage requirements.
